Handel's "Berenice, Regina di Egitto"
We tell the story of the opera Berenice, Regina di Egitto from a new perspective.
We shed light on the dynamic between politics and love from the perspective of Aristoboldo, consultant of the queen. The music is from Händel, either arranged pieces from the opera itself, or others which we have combined with own compositions.
For this program I Zefirelli received the Bärenreiter Urtext-Preis of the göttingen händel competition 2021.
First performance: 12th of April at Centre culturelle de rencontre d’Ambronay, FR (EEEMERGING+)

Baroque meets Folk PART 2
TELEMANN IN THE TAVERN
Hamburg around 1730
The focus here lies on the city of Hamburg, where we founded the ensemble and it's most important composer of the 18th century Telemann.
Sonatas, Cantatas and folk songs:
Its for sure, that Telemann was around in a pub in Hamburg occasionally. We also especially liked Polish folk music, which found entrance into several of his works.
There were also many folk songs in Hamburg at that time. Care to find out, which ones? Check out the trailer!

Of course it is impossible to say exactly, what music Michel de Montaigne listened to on his travels. Even if he mentions music at several place in his diary. But at least we can make an educated guess.
